We have these headphones, part two

Broken Sony MDR-V6 headphones.

Here’s a follow-up to this post regarding the Sony MDR-V6 headphones that I’ve had for…23-ish years now? The plastic bracket with the swivel holding one of the ear pieces finally snapped earlier this month for no apparent reason—other than being more than 20 years old, I guess. Thankfully, the replacement part was available from various online suppliers.

I’m not sure why the left hanger costs ten times as much as the right earpiece hanger. The right one does fit on the left side since the only difference is the placement of the little tab that guides the wire. I thought about just ordering the wrong side because it was so much cheaper, but ultimately decided to go with the correct one anyway. The actual repair only takes about a minute since it’s a simple swap after removing a single retaining screw. If you’re keeping track, so far I have replaced the earcups twice and this swing arm once. Everything else has been fine still.

Also pictured for no reason is one of my MiniDisc players. Yes, I know it’s 2013.
