We Have These Accidents Waiting to Happen

So, one definite disadvantage of push-button switchblades is that when you remove the safety (as people like me are wont to do), the knife will eventually activate whilst inside your pocket, and you can most certainly accidentally cut yourself (just like the manual warns!) digging for your keys, although it might not hurt and you might not notice it at all until you discover blood leaking inconveniently from your finger. Theoretically, that is.

I’m mostly just glad that I didn’t stab myself in the scrotum or something.

But I think I’m going to go back to butterfly knives—much safer, despite what the asstards that make California law might think—or possibly the pull-button switchblades like my Benchmade-made H&K one (although it also has a safety that I kinda want to remove).

In case you’re wondering where I bought switchblades in the first place, it’s one of the perks of having a military ID. Then again the website that sold me the push-button Boker Mini in question for $20 ($20!), didn’t even ask for a copy of my military ID. Maybe it just assumed I was good to go since the shipping address was to an APO in Iraq.
