All right, there is a really good chance there is an infomercial about these things, but as someone with a genetic propensity to compulsively hoard containers (think, cabinets full of glass jars and plastic tubs), these are fucking awesome.
There are at least two different companies that make these, and probably more. Instead of using plastic food containers like a chump, I’ve switched over to these glass or Pyrex jobbies with snap-on lids. No more bullshit odors or stubborn stains. They’re microwave safe, although you have to offset the lids a bit or else the cooling air will vacuum seal the fuck out of them. Each container has a gasket to ensure a tight seal so you don’t have to worry about leaks after you snap on the lid.
Rectangle ones fit better in tiny un-American refrigerators, but round ones are easier to hand-wash without accidental splashes from overly aggressive scouring. They are a lot heavier and more fragile than plain ol’ plastic containers, but overall these are just better. I was an idiot for not switching sooner.
